    Over the past year, the Municipality's Growing Together Strathroy-Caradoc project team has achieved many critical milestones. The following projects are now complete:

    • Employment Lands Study
    • Regional Commercial Systems Study
    • Parks and Recreation Master Plan
    • Attainable Housing Study
    • Fire Station Location Study

    The remaining Master Plans and Studies include the Transportation Master Plan, Recreational Trails Master Plan, and the Servicing Capacity and Constraints Study, which are all anticipated to be completed in Q1 2022. Meanwhile, the Official Plan Review project continues with the finalization of the Policy Directions Report and preparation of the Draft Redline Official Plan.

    On January 17, 2022, Council endorsed a revised project schedule for Growing Together Strathroy-Caradoc that will see the Municipality complete an Official Plan Amendment by June 2022 to implement all of the policy changes introduced through the Master Plans and Studies, together with matters of Provincial and County policy conformity.

    The Comprehensive Review, or settlement area boundary review process, will now begin in February 2022 and will be completed in Q1 2023. A new project page for the Comprehensive Review project has been launched to serve as the central source of information and latest updates on this aspect of the project.

    Thank you to everyone that has participated in this project throughout 2021. We look forward to continuing the conversation in 2022 as we comprehensive plan for the future of Strathroy-Caradoc, together.

    On January 17, 2022, several key items will be presented to Municipal Council for consideration as part of the Growing Together Strathroy-Caradoc project. Over the past year, a significant amount of work has been completed as part of the Official Plan Review, and the various Master Plans and Studies. The following items, linked below, will be brought forward to Council for consideration:

    1. Official Plan Review - Draft Policy Conformity and Directions Report (Endorsement)
    2. Parks and Recreation Master Plan - Final Draft Parks and Recreation Master Plan (Endorsement)
    3. Employment Lands Study - Final Report (Endorsement)
    4. Regional Commercial Systems Study - Final Report (Endorsement)
    5. Growing Together Project Status Update and Revised Project Schedule

    Following this Council meeting, the Growing Together project webpage will be comprehensively updated with the latest project timelines and documents.

The Growing Together project will help answer these questions through an updated Official Plan, a new Attainable Housing Study, Transportation Master Plan, Parks & Recreation Master Plan, and Recreational Trails Master Plan!     The Municipality of Strathroy Caradoc is looking for up to five interested and enthusiastic community members to serve on the Growing Together Official Plan Update Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC). The purpose of this group will be to provide a sounding board for the Project Team and provide insights into key issues and draft recommendations on a range of matters. Selected members of the SAC will be expected to:

    • Participate in three meetings during key milestones of the Project in each of 2021 and 2022 for a total of 6 meetings. Meetings will be held in the evening during the week, and will be approximately 1.5 to 2 hours in duration.
    • Due to COVID-19 public health restrictions, meetings will be held virtually. A phone-in option will be provided for those without high-speed internet access.
    • Become an Ambassador of the Project, who promotes and attends public events related to the various components of Growing Together Strathroy-Caradoc.
