Welcome! Growing Together is about helping shape Strathroy-Caradoc's future - how it grows, looks, moves, opportunities for jobs and services, and more! The Municipality values your voice and involvement. The feedback you provide will help us identify the needs and priorities as the Municipality continues to have a constructive dialogue with the community that is open, transparent, accessible, and inclusive. This web page serves as the central hub for you to visit and receive ongoing project updates

Attainable Housing Study

An Attainable Housing Strategy (AHS) is a strategic action plan for addressing the gap between the demand for and supply of attainable housing, as well as affordability in the Municipality.

The Municipality has already developed a Housing Background Report which presents an examination of the current need for housing, including attainable housing, as well as the current supply of housing. The AHS builds on this work to provide additional analysis of the supply of non-market/community housing as well as housing affordability in Strathroy-Caradoc. The AHS will also include strategic recommendations to address any gaps in the attainable housing supply based on the assessment of supply and demand, a review of the policy framework, and best practices in other jurisdictions.

Get Involved!

In the tabs below, you will find activities that you can participate in and the latest project updates. These activities will change as the project progresses and as we learn more about what is important to you. Check-in often and tell us what you think!

    Over the past several months, the Project Team has worked to prepare the Attainable Housing Study Report based on the input received through the community Visioning Workshop & Survey in March/April 2021 and the Homeless Action Committee in late Spring 2021. The purpose of the Attainable Housing Report is to present key findings from:

    • An assessment of the need for attainable housing in the Municipality;
    • A review of the policy framework;
    • A scan of best and promising practices; and,
    • The development of policy recommendations related to housing that will support housing affordability and diversity and be used to guide the updates to the Strathroy-Caradoc Official Plan.

    This report will also support the Municipality’s efforts to obtain funding and facilitate partnerships for the development of affordable and attainable housing in Strathroy-Caradoc.

    Share your feedback! A Vision Survey is now live, and presents the visions for the various components of this project to confirm whether we heard the community correctly at the Visioning Workshops. This is an important step for the project team as we advance to future stages of the project. Click here to complete the survey
