Comprehensive Review

Since early 2021, the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc has been reviewing and updating its Official Plan. The Official Plan sets out policies and objectives to guide land use, development, and growth across the Municipality. The Municipality is completing the review of its Official Plan across two phases:

• Phase 1 (January 2021 - Summer 2022) - Official Plan Review
• Phase 2 (February 2022 - Q1 2024) - Comprehensive Review

The Comprehensive Review process builds upon the Official Plan Review and previously completed Residential Land Needs Assessment, which reviewed the need for land within Strathroy-Caradoc to accommodate residential growth over the next 25 years. As part of the Official Plan Review, an Employment Lands Study also reviewed the need for land to accommodate job growth over the next 25 years. The Comprehensive Review process will determine whether there is sufficient land to accommodate this residential and job growth and evaluate whether an expansion(s) to the Municipality's Settlement Boundary is warranted or adjustment is needed to ensure growth is occurring in the appropriate location.
