Your feedback on the future of Strathroy-Caradoc
The feedback we hear from the community about the future of land use planning and growth management in Strathroy-Caradoc has been considered in completing the background review for the Official Plan Review.
Here is a recording from the November 16, 2021 Virtual Community Conversation where the findings of the Draft Policy Directions Report were introduced.
The Draft Policy Directions & Conformity Report contains detailed policy ideas for the updated Official Plan. The key directions include:
- Updating the Residential land use designation in Mount Brydges and Strathroy to permit a broad range of housing options, as well as other uses such as schools, small-scale retail, and parks to build vibrant neighbourhoods
- Planning for climate change and sustainability
- Supporting the agricultural community through expanded permissions for on-farm diversified uses and agriculture-related uses
- Promoting mixed-use development in specific locations in Mount Brydges and Strathroy
- Protecting the natural heritage system
…and much more!
