Mount Brydges Wastewater Servicing Class EA
Welcome! Growing Together is about helping shape Strathroy-Caradoc's future. The Municipality values your voice and involvement. The feedback you provide will help us identify needs and priorities as the Municipality continues to have a constructive dialogue with the community that is open, transparent, accessible, and inclusive. This web page serves as the central hub for you to visit and receive ongoing updates about this project.
About this Project
The community of Mount Brydges is experiencing significant growth. As the community's population expands, wastewater treatment needs will grow beyond the capacity of the existing Mount Brydges Wastewater Treatment Facility (Mount Brydges WWTF). To address this, the Municipality is starting a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to decide how wastewater treatment capacity for the community should be expanded in the future.
Why are we doing this study?
As more people live and work in Mount Brydges and the surrounding area, we need to make sure our infrastructure can meet the needs of both current and future residents and businesses. The study will identify the best approach for investing in wastewater treatment so we’re ready to handle increasing demands.
What will the study cover?
The study will confirm the community's future needs and explore servicing options to keep wastewater treated safely. This will include maintaining services to existing residents, allowing for community growth, and connecting homes on private septic systems to municipal sewers.
The study is a Schedule ‘C’ project under the Class EA process (Municipal Engineer’s Association, March 2023, as amended February 2024) approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

Get Informed and Be Involved
Community input is an important part of the Class EA process. The project team wants to hear from residents, Indigenous Nations, technical agencies and other key organizations. Your feedback will help shape solutions and address concerns. It will be considered along with other technical factors, such as environmental, historical and cultural impacts.
As the study moves forward, visit this site and the Municipality's social media accounts where we’ll share notices about Public Information Centres and other engagement opportunities as they occur.
