What is a Servicing Capacity & Constraint Study?

It is a study that evaluates the capacity of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems to respond to current and future needs in a region. This type of study requires that Municipal engineering staff, fire officials, the public & stakeholders, and the Consulting Team work together to identify capacity constraints, issues and ways to improve the existing systems and policies in Strathroy-Caradoc.

What are the goals of this Servicing Capacity & Constraint Study?

The objective of this Servicing Capacity and Constraint Study is to present a summary analysis of the existing water, sanitary, storm sewer and fire flow servicing infrastructure  in Strathroy and Mt. Brydges and to identify areas of opportunities and constraints to development within these identified Settlement Areas based on projected population, employment and household projections over a 25-year period.

Why is a Servicing Capacity & Constraint Study important?

A water, sanitary and stormwater servicing analysis allows the Municipality to identify servicing needs for growth areas and major issues affecting the Strathroy-Caradoc that can have a negative impact on day to day activities of residents and business. Identifying servicing needs and solving them can boost economic growth and protect public health and the environment.
